Description
Experience the authentic taste of the Mediterranean with our classic Gyro — tender, thinly sliced strips of seasoned meat, expertly prepared to capture the rich, savory flavors that have made this dish a beloved staple worldwide. Our gyro is a masterful blend of succulent lamb and beef, slow-cooked on a vertical rotisserie to develop a perfectly caramelized exterior while remaining juicy and flavorful inside.
Each serving features thin slices of this tender gyro meat, layered generously and paired with our signature Grecian sauce, a creamy and tangy accompaniment that beautifully balances the meat’s robust flavor. The sauce, inspired by traditional tzatziki, combines Greek yogurt, cucumber, garlic, lemon, and fresh herbs, delivering a refreshing, cooling contrast that elevates every bite.
The gyro can be enjoyed on its own, or nestled inside warm, soft pita bread alongside fresh vegetables like crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and onions for a fuller, more textured experience. The result is a harmonious blend of smoky, savory meat with bright, creamy sauce and crunchy freshness — a combination that delights the palate and satisfies the appetite.

Went to La Shish tonight to try out the new buffet. What a pleasant experience! Good selection included 2 versions of hummus, babaganoush, taboola, greek salad, roasted vegetables, stuffed grape leaves, and more, plus a choice of 4 meats. We had the gyro lamb which was generously portioned. Service was thoughtful thank you Nassar! Sadly they were out of their baklava, but we will be going back soon. Highly Recommended.

Haven’t been to the restaurant physically but I’ve ordered twice on Uber Eats. It’s really good. First time I got the gyro wrap, easily one of the best I’ve had. Chicago has some great gyro places but the gyro from LaShish is a new favorite. The second time I went I got the chicken kabob wrap. It was better than the gyro and the gyro was fantastic. The fries here are really good as well. Hummus is first rate. Don’t get me started on the salad. I don’t think you can go wrong here.
